Singer Narendra Chanchal, who redefined popular devotional singing in India, is no more. According to reports, Narendra Chanchal died on Friday in Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote, “Extremely saddened to hear the news of Narendra Chanchal ji’s death. He made a mark in the world of devotional songs. My condolences to his family and fans.”
Narendra Chanchal was admitted in Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on November 27. He was 80. Several people who loved Narendra Chanchal’s devotional songs have posted condolence messages and shared his popular numbers on social media.
There is a strong we heard in childhood that once he refused to sing Mata bhajan and next day he lost his voice and when he vowed to sing bhajans only , he lost his voice. He went to Vaishno Devi every year and is popular for his Mata ki Bhente album and his songs are famous all over India, in navratri and during jagratas his bhajans are played on repeat and make you feel devotional.
