Indian Gold Medalists CWG 2018:
India is currently competing at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia from 4 to 15 April 2018. Currently India is ranking 3 in overall medal tally wherein Australia tops the list followed by England. Total medals won by India till 10 April 2018 is 19(10 gold, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes).
Indian Gold Medalists CWG 2018 winners’s list :
- Saikhom Mirabai Chanu:
She won the first gold for India in Weightlifting in women’s 48 KG even on 5 April. Chanu lifted a total of 196 kg, 86 kg in Snatch and 110 kg in Clean and Jerk to win the first gold medal for India in the Commonwealth Games 2018. En-route to the medal, she broke the games record for the weight category; the effort also marked her personal best performance.
2. Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu
She won a gold for India in women’s 53 KG weightlifting group on 6 April. Sanjita Chanu holds the Commonwealth Games record of 84kg for the Snatch segment in the latter weight category. She had shifted to a higher weight category of 53kg and secured the title with a total of 192kg. En-route to her gold medal, she bettered her performance from the previous edition and broke the Game’s record for the Snatch category with a lift of 84kg; she lifted a weight of 108kg in the Clean and jerk segment.
3. Punam Yadav
She won a gold for India in women’s 69 KG weightlifting event on 8 April. She won gold medal by lifting 222 kg, 100 kg in Snatch (weightlifting) and 122 in Clean and jerk.
4. Sathish Sivalingam
He won a gold for India in men’s 77 KG weightlifting event on 7 April. He lifted 144 kg in snatch games record and 173 kg in clean and jerk.
5. Ragala Venkat Rahul
He won a gold for India in men’s 85 KG weightlifting event on 7 April. He lifted a total of 338 kg – 151 kg in snatch and 187 kg in clean and jerk.
6. Manu Bhaker
She won a gold for India in shooting in Women’s 10 metre air pistol. Bhaker scored 388/400 points at 2018 Commonwealth Games in women’s 10m air pistol qualifying round and qualified for the finals. In the final round of the women’s 10m air pistol event during the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, she secured the gold medal with setting a new Commonwealth Games record of 240.9 points.
7. Women’s Table Tennis Team
The team consisted of Manika Batra, Mouma Das, Sutirtha Mukherjee, Madhurika Patkar and Pooja Sahasrabudhe.
8. Jitu Rai
He won a gold medal in men’s 10 metre air pistol on 9 April. In CWG 2018, he broke the Commonwealth Games record for men’s 10m air pistol with a total score of 235.1 points and secured his first Commonwealth Games gold medal in the relevant event.
9. Men’s Table Tennis Team
Part of the team were the players : Sharath Achanta, Anthony Amalrajm, Harmeet Desai, Sanil Shetty and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran.
10. Badminton Mixed Team
Part of this team were the players : Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Ashwini Ponnappa, Pranaav Jerry Chopra, Chirag Shetty, N. Sikki Reddy and Gadde Ruthvika Shivani.
